Benevolent St. Fiacre, patron saint of gardeners and well-schooled in the power of herbs.
Born in Ireland and raised in a monastery he eventually became and priest and monk. Looking for greater solace he moved to France where he began a monastery and tilled large swaths of land which was said was only possible by the Lord's intervention. His monastery helped travelers. He spent his entire life in service to the Lord and was known to take part in great self-mortification.
His feast day is August 11. He is the patron saint of gardeners and herbalists.
Her feast day is November 23rd.
