Andrea del Verrocchio is one of the most influential artists of the Renaissance and has dabbled in painting,bronze david verrocchio , architecture, goldware making and other fields. Bringing together 50 of the master's paintings, sculptures, and drawings, the special exhibition explores his extraordinary artistic wealth and breadth, allowing us to appreciate his work in each art form and how he inspired the creation of another artist.

While Donatello's David is nearly naked and brooding in contemplation, Verrocchio's David (said to be modeled after a teenage Leonardo da Vinci) is young and extroverted, wearing a sumptuous close-fitting coat and gilded trim, showing Verrocchio's experience as a goldsmith. Statue cast in bronze, with an exceptionally smooth surface, detailing in part by carving the cooled metal with a chisel. The head of the giant Goliath, in the middle of the forehead, is the scar that the stone hit.
