Andrea del Verrocchio is one of the most influential artists of the Renaissance and has dabbled in painting,bronze david verrocchio , architecture, goldware making and other fields. While Donatello's David is nearly naked and brooding in contemplation, Verrocchio's David (said to be modeled after a teenage Leonardo da Vinci) is young and extroverted, wearing a sumptuous close-fitting coat and gilded trim, showing Verrocchio's experience as a goldsmith. Statue cast in bronze, with an exceptionally smooth surface, detailing in part by carving the cooled metal with a chisel. The head of the giant Goliath, in the middle of the forehead, is the scar that the stone hit.
