Umlauf Sculpture Garden & Museum

The Umlauf Sculpture Garden & Museum contains sculptures by American sculptor Charles Umlauf and other contemporary artists. The museum features more than 200 sculptures, paintings and drawings, as well as 12 acres of charming gardens for strolling. The sculptures in the garden are made of clay, bronze, stone, marble and other materials. Each sculpture is a unique piece of art. They are made into mischievous animals, mythological creatures, families and provocative Nude. On the third Saturday of every month at 1:00 pm, the museum provides free guided tours of the garden.

The Umlauf Sculpture Garden & Museum, stylized as the UMLAUF, is a museum and outdoor sculpture garden centered on the artistic works of American sculptor Charles Umlauf. Located at 605 Azie Morton Road in the Zilker neighborhood of Austin, Texas, the garden is adjacent to Austin's Zilker Park.

In 1985, Charles and Angeline Umlauf donated their home, studio, and 168 Umlauf sculptures to the City of Austin. Six years later, in 1991, the City built a museum to display the artwork on adjoining city property with private funds. Staff and volunteers maintain the museum with support of grants, donated funds, and contributions from the City of Austin, to maintain the museum and xeriscaped garden. The Museum maintains a seasonal schedule including exhibitions of Charles Umlauf and his twentieth century peers and contemporary art exhibitions.

Mission：The UMLAUF Sculpture Garden & Museum exhibits the work of Charles Umlauf, his influences, and other contemporary artists in a natural setting, and provides educational experiences that encourage the understanding and appreciation of sculpture.

The Umlauf Sculpture Garden & Museum will reopen to the public Tuesday, August 18, 2020 with a limit of 30 visitors at a time. Following health and safety guidelines from state and local officials, we have put into place safeguards and limits to protect both visitors and staff.
