How is a Bronze Sculpture Made?
Bronze sculptures can be seen in many places in life. They are a manifestation of artistic sense. The sculptor perfectly integrates art and copper metal materials to give bronze sculptures extraordinary meaning. Bronze sculptures have high ornamental value whether they are decorative sculptures or garden sculptures, especially some monumental bronze sculptures, which carry a lot of special significance. So do you know how the bronze sculpture is made? Let's take a look.
First of all, the process of making each bronze sculpture is unique. The first thing our master sculptor has to do is to sculpt the clay model. This is a more critical step. It is difficult to change the image after casting. The next step is to make the original clay into a mold. It is generally made of polyurethane mold composite material or high-quality silicone rubber. After the entire mold is dry, it is cut from the clay. If the sculpture is relatively large, it needs to be divided into smaller parts. When the entire mold is dry, it is removed from the clay and divided into separate parts, and then reconnected after the sculpture is cast in bronze.
Second, the wax replica can then be poured out of the mold for wax chase. This step is mainly to make up for the defects of wax. It can then be cast to produce a strong shell, which will become a bronze container for the metal. At this time, pour the wax into the prepared container and heat the solid bronze block to melt it. After filling the container, let it cool for several hours.
After that, welding and metal assembly can be performed. When the sculpture is too complex, the mold is cut into pieces and re-welded together to form the entire work. After the welding is completed, sandblasting can be carried out to make the surface smooth, and finally patina is applied for coloring. Such a complete sculpture is completed.
