“De Vaartkapoen” by Belgian artist Tom Frantzen is a humorous statue of a policeman being tripped by a man hiding in a sewer manhole. It is an irreverent tribute to the anarchic side of the Bruxeloise. The title is a slang term for people born in Molenbeek; “de vaart” means “the canal” and “kapoen” means cheeky. It shows a young rebel, the Vaartkapoen, reminiscent of a jack-in-the-box, toppling over a policeman, thus overthrowing his authority.
We have professional bronze sculptors who have paid attention to make statues when they were younger, they have rich experience in making this bronze de vaartkapoen sculpture. If you are interested in the policeman statue please feel free to contact us.
