St. Thomas More is the patron saint of lawyers and politicians. His feast day is June 22nd.
Thomas More was born in England and studied law at Oxford University. He started his career in the Parliament and married Jane Colt with whom he had 4 children. Unfortunately, she died at a young age. After her death, Mr. More married Alice Middleton to be a mother for his children. In 1516, he wrote his most famous book " Utopia", which even attracted the attention of Henry VIII. After having appointed him to high posts and missions, he made him Lord Chancellor in 1529. He resigned in 1532 because he had his own opinion about the supremacy of the Pope and marriage. He was finally charged with treason and beheaded in 1535.
